A simple talk with a friend changed the way I look at women and their lives.

She asked one quiet question. Are women in the kitchen by choice or by force.

I did not have an answer. But one thing felt clear. Once women were pushed into that space, men slowly took control of the rest. Power changed hands without anyone announcing it.

Then my friend said something that stayed with me.

Many women live the way they do because they believe they deserve only that much.

That line shook me.

I began to look at the women around me through that thought.

My mother. My aunts. Neighbours. Friends.

Most of them had dreams once. Some wanted to study more. Some wanted to work. Some wanted rest. Some wanted freedom. But life slowly taught them to settle. Not because they had no strength, but because they were told, again and again, that wanting more was wrong.

Many of them do not even know they have choices. They think life just happens to them. They think someone else is always deciding for them. But deep inside, they have stopped asking what they want.
