How Frayed Edges in Strong Relationships Are Self-Repaired

Think of a strong relationship, with a person, a company, or an organization at work. Its strength is not that fewer things go wrong. People can be inattentive, colleagues are abrupt, companies make mistakes, and now and then a product we trust disappoints us. What is remarkable in a strong relationship is that some of these lapses get repaired, and even more remarkable is the fact that the person doing the repairing is often the person who was wronged.
