Loyiso Bala Shares Exciting Update on His Next Chapter

South African singer Loyiso Bala has shared exciting news about what is next for him as he begins a brand-new chapter in his career. After recently announcing his departure from the SABC, Bala has now revealed that he has been selected to further his leadership journey by joining a prestigious executive programme.
Taking to Instagram, Bala shared that he has been accepted into the 2026 Executive Programme in Media Leadership at GIBS Business School. The programme brings together media leaders from South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria and Namibia, giving them the opportunity to learn, grow and shape the future of the media industry.
Bala wrote, “I’m honoured to share that l’ve been selected to join the 2026 Executive Programme in Media Leadership at GIBS Business School alongside an outstanding group of media leaders from South Africa, Kenya, Nigeria, and Namibia.
“It comes at a season of real change for me. A season of new beginnings, new lessons, and new opportunities.
“I’m grateful for the chance to keep learning, growing, and deepening my understanding of the future of media and storytelling on our continent.
“I truly believe God orders our steps, and I’m thankful for every door He continues to open.
“Please keep me in your prayers as I begin this next chapter. Excited for what lies ahead.”
The announcement comes just weeks after Bala confirmed that he was stepping down as the Business Manager of the SABC’s Eastern Cape Combo, which includes Umhlobo Wenene FM and truFM. His departure marked the end of an important five-year journey at the public broadcaster.
At the time, Bala reflected on his time with the SABC and thanked the people he worked alongside throughout his tenure.
He said, “Today marks the end of my journey as Business Manager of the SABC’s Eastern Cape Combo, Umhlobo Wenene FM and trufm.
“To the UWFM and trufm teams I had the privilege of working with, thank you for your trust, commitment and shared purpose. You gave me more than support. You trusted me, and that is not something I take lightly or will ever forget.”
With a new learning opportunity now ahead of him, Bala appears ready to embrace this season of growth. His latest announcement shows that while one chapter has come to an end, another is just beginning, and he is looking forward to the opportunities, lessons and experiences that lie ahead.
