I’m collaborating with a well-respected colleague in the ADHD world when she pauses, for at least the fifth time, to consult ChatGPT. She wants to know when to schedule an online parent event for the best attendance. Chat doesn’t offer just one solution; instead, it offers several options that include morning, afternoon, and evening times, and I watch her face try to reconcile that even after getting an “answer,” she still doesn’t feel clear. She rephrases the query and asks again, getting a new, longer list of options. In the process, ChatGPT praises her for continuing to ask such great questions.
