Video game cheating has grown into an $8.5 billion-a-year industry, and one cheat dev made $77 million alone

Ahead of Modern Warfare 4's October 22 launch, Activision's Team Ricochet published a breakdown of the global video game cheat economy. Citing research from threat intelligence firm Intorqa, it estimates the industry at between $5.1 billion and $13.8 billion annually, with a median of $8.5 billion.
