Azana Joins Miss South Africa 2026 Top 24 Contestants

South African singer Makhosazana Masango, better known as Azana, has added another exciting achievement to her growing list of accomplishments after being selected as one of the Top 24 contestants for Miss South Africa 2026.

The singer and songwriter known for her powerful voice and chart-topping music, shared the exciting milestone in a joint Instagram post with the Miss South Africa official page.

Introducing the KwaZulu-Natal representative, the Miss South Africa page wrote: “Introducing the #MissSA2026 Top 24. Meet Makhosazana Azana Masango, 25, from Ndwedwe, representing KwaZulu-Natal. A musician, model and philanthropist her EYA initiative focuses on Community Upliftment. #MissSA2026 #Top24 #EmpowerYouthAfrica.”

The announcement was met with an outpouring of support from fans and fellow public figures. Among those who congratulated Azana were singer Cici, Miss South Africa 2025 second runner-up Karabo Mareka and content creator Ipeleng Selepe.

As part of the Top 24 reveal, Miss South Africa also highlighted Azana’s passion for education and community development.

The organisation wrote: “Makhosazana Azana Masango, 25, from Ndwedwe, KwaZulu-Natal, is a musician, model and philanthropist currently pursuing an LLB through UNISA. Best known for her chart-topping music career and through her work as an artist, she aims to inspire hope, healing and positive change while using her platform to uplift communities.

“Through the Miss South Africa Organisation’s Empower Youth Africa (EYA) framework, Azana’s advocacy focuses on Access to Education and Knowledge. Inspired by her work at Phuzulwazi Secondary School and her experiences in underserved communities, she advocates for improved educational resources, including libraries, laboratories, learning facilities and essential school infrastructure. She believes access to quality educational tools is critical to unlocking young people’s potential.

“Azana currently runs a school choir programme and mentors aspiring young artists by providing access to safe, fully funded studio opportunities. Through her advocacy, she hopes to help create learning environments where young people have the resources, opportunities and support needed to thrive and reach their full potential.”
