Her viral hit track “CHANEL,” which has amassed over 350 million Spotify streams, won the fan-voted category and made Tyla the first international artist to win Social Song of the Year.
For the Best Afrobeats Artist category, Tyla beat some of the biggest names in African music, including Burna Boy, Wizkid, Rema and Moliy.
The “Water” hitmaker was also nominated for Best Female R&B Artist and Best Music Video, showing just how much her global influence continues to grow. Tyla’s international success has helped place African music even more firmly on the global stage, with fans across the world continuing to support her music and achievements.
This is also not the first time Tyla has won at the American Music Awards. In 2025, she won the award for Favourite Afrobeats Artist, where she once again beat Wizkid and Rema. She also beat Tems in the category.
Several other global stars also walked away with awards on the night, including Cardi B, Sabrina Carpenter and Justin Bieber. The star-studded ceremony was hosted by Queen Latifah.
