Ninety seven years ago, Alberta Christine Williams King gifted the world with a revolution. She was, in the words of her son, “the best mother in the world.”

Her beloved son, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. had his life ahead of him. I can only wonder — as I imagine millions around the globe also do — what he would have achieved had he not been assassinated by those whose only language was (is) cowardice and h8.

A short while ago, I checked out a recorded clip honoring the late civil rights icon on Democracy Now! In it, Dr. King gives his speech of 4 April 1967 at NYC’s Riverside Church.
