THE FUSE

The Mayor of O.R. Tambo District Municipality, Cllr. Mesuli Ngqondwana, has donated 6 000 bags of fertiliser to five local municipalities as part of efforts to support farmers and promote agricultural development across the district. The donation provides practical production support at a time when farmers need access to essential agricultural inputs to maintain and improve their farming activities. It also demonstrates the importance of local government involvement in strengthening agriculture and supporting rural livelihoods. The initiative was highlighted through the Eyoluntu Project Annual Farmers Information Day, which brings together farmers, aspiring farmers, young people and agricultural stakeholders. By creating a platform where farmers can access information, technical assistance and opportunities, the programme seeks to contribute to a stronger and more informed agricultural sector in the district.
