Gender-based violence continues to be one of the most painful realities many women and children face. It appears in many forms physical abuse, emotional manipulation, sexual violence, online harassment, harmful traditional practices, discrimination, and the quiet silencing that forces people to live with their pain alone.
No matter how it happens, the impact is deep and long-lasting.

This is why awareness matters.
This is why education matters.
This is why protection must reach every woman and every child.

Today, I’m adding my voice to a global call for safer homes, safer communities, and safer systems. A call to build structures that protect, support, and empower survivors instead of shaming or ignoring them. Safety should never be negotiable. It is a right.

If we want a future where women can live without fear and children can grow without harm, we have to challenge harmful norms, stand with survivors, speak up when silence feels easier, and teach communities what respect and safety truly mean.

Every story we tell, every conversation we start, every action we take no matter how small moves us closer to a world free from violence. And together, we can save lives.
