According to Wessel Cloete, Managing Director of The Pecan People, the strong performance in key production areas is being matched by healthy international demand for South African pecans. The combination of good orchard performance and a firm export market is creating positive opportunities for local pecan producers. Data from the South African Pecan Producers Association Harvest Tracker shows that the 2026 harvest has already exceeded 48 000 tons. The season is currently on track to reach approximately 56 000 tons, highlighting the continued growth and potential of South Africa’s pecan sector.
