THE FUSE

My wife and I had a little tiff a few days ago. Afterward, she playfully came up to me with a smile and said something that really sank in. She said, "Hon, if jumping to conclusions were an Olympic sport, you'd win the gold medal." After laughing, I realized she was right. A brief comment or delayed reply can send my mind racing (filling in the blanks) before I have even asked a single question. Looking at this further, I realized I start to replay that explanation until it feels less like a guess and more like evidence.
