The Fear of Being Different When Traveling

Some years ago, my husband Paul and I went to Iran, and our friends were concerned about our well-being because of the tension between our countries. I assured them that we would be careful and keep a low profile. But their main concern was that we thought, behaved, and looked different from Iranian people, and we would stick out. I countered that I had no fear of being different, but it turned out that I was wrong.
