NVIDIA's RTX Neural Texture Compression technology, which leverages AI to significantly reduce the VRAM footprint for game assets while maintaining image fidelity, is the sort of tech we need right now. In its most extreme use case, it can reduce texture sizes by up to 90%, which would make 8GB or 12GB of VRAM enough for 4K gaming.
