Free State Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARDEA) and ITAU Milling Strengthen Partnership to Advance Food Security and Agro-Processing

On 29 May 2025, the MEC for Agriculture, Rural Development and Environmental Affairs, Ms. Elzabe Rockman, led a senior departmental delegation in a strategic engagement with ITAU Milling Chief Executive Officer Mr Fanti Hattingh and his executive management team. The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between government and the private sector in advancing agricultural development across the province. It highlighted the importance of partnerships that directly support food security programmes and agro-processing initiatives. The engagement formed part of a broader strategy to build a resilient agricultural economy through collaboration and shared expertise. It also reinforced the department’s commitment to working closely with industry leaders who contribute to rural development and sustainable food systems.
