When is the CAFCL and CAFCC draw?

All the teams that did well to qualify for the two continental competitions are waiting with bated breath to find out who their opponents will be.

South Africa will be represented by four clubs – two in the CAF Champions League and two in the CAF Confederation Cup.

Both Orlando Pirates and Mamelodi Sundowns will be in the CAF Champions League after finishing first and second respectively last term.

Kaizer Chiefs will return to the CAF Confederation Cup after finishing third, and they will be accompanied by Nedbank Cup champions Durban City.

WHEN IS THE DRAW FOR THE 2026-27 CAFCL AND CAFCC?

Now, the draw for the preliminary phases of the two continental competitions will be conducted on Thursday, 6 August in Cairo, Egypt.

And the draw will include the preliminary round, the first round and the second round for all the qualified teams.

The group stage draw will be conducted once all the teams from the qualifying phases are done playing.

This season’s competition will somehow be one of the strangest simply because African powerhouses Al Ahly will be campaigning in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The 12-time CAF Champions League winners failed to qualify for Africa’s biggest club competition.

Al Ahly last failed to qualify for the CAF Champions League in 2023, meaning they had been ever-present in the competition for 23 years.
