Agency clarifies amended SASSA grant eligibility for 2026

Agency has quietly amended SASSA grant eligibility for 2026. While the National Treasury was increasing grants back in April 2026, it also approved stricter asset and income requirements for applicants. This is in a bid to reduce the number of beneficiaries and save R3 billion in social welfare over the next two years.
