Miss South Africa 2023 and TV host Natasha Joubert has opened up honestly about the emotional and physical stress she is currently facing during her pregnancy. Taking to her Instagram page, the soon-to-be mom shared a raw and emotional message that showed fans that behind the beautiful pictures and videos, she is struggling.
In her post, Natasha admitted that she is feeling overwhelmed and anxious as she prepares to welcome her baby. “I am actually not coping today. I am feeling so anxious that our house won’t be ready when she arrives,” she shared. She explained that she and her partner are constantly on-site, trying their best to make sure the renovations are moving forward. However, the pressure is taking a toll on her wellbeing.
“Everyday we are trying to be on-site to make sure everything is progressing, but I am definitely not relaxed or resting as I should,” she said. Adding to her stress is the extreme heat, which has made pregnancy even more difficult for her. “This heat is also super challenging so preggy. Today was just tough,” she wrote.
Natasha also revealed that new problems keep appearing in their home, making the situation even more frustrating. “Yesterday we discovered more underneath our vanity that we had to chip away at today. And I just can’t see how in 4 years since renovation our entire house is just filled with damp & mould,” she said. She believes this could explain why she was often unwell in the past. “I do think this answers why I fell sick so often. Lol but when I post my cute reels & preggy pictures just know it’s the only thing keeping me sane and trying to not focus on the bad.“
In another Instagram story, Natasha spoke about how social media often hides the truth. “Guys, social media is such a lie… the past few weeks I have obviously been very preoccupied with just this house and we haven’t been staying in the house for like 2 weeks,” she shared. She also addressed comments about her eating habits, explaining that the house is currently unlivable. “Guys, there’s no middle like it’s a construction site.”
The repeated discovery of mould has been heartbreaking for her. “I think it breaks my heart every single time we discover more mould because I feel frustrated, we’ve renovated 4 years ago now it feels like we are just redoing everything just for it to look the same,” she said. Natasha ended by expressing how painful it is to lose valuable time she should be using to rest and prepare for her baby. “I feel like it’s stealing precious time whereby I should be resting and getting the nursery ready.”
