Middlesex all-rounder Josh De Caires has signed an extended contract to keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2027 season.

The 23-year-old right-hander made his first-class debut for Middlesex in 2021 and last season averaged 43 as they finished fourth in Division Two.

De Caires also scored three half-centuries as Middlesex reached the quarter-finals of the One-Day Cup before losing to eventual runners-up, Hampshire.

"Josh was highly sought after among the other professional county clubs, so we are delighted that he has committed his future to Middlesex," said the club's director of cricket Alan Coleman.

"He has come on leaps and bounds this summer and can hopefully use this as a springboard for further success in the seasons to come."
