South African singer, songwriter and music producer Berita, whose real name is Gugulethu Khumalo, has exciting news for her fans. The talented musician has announced that she will release her brand-new single titled Namhlanje on Friday, 20 March 2026.

The singer shared the news with her followers on social media, where she spoke about her journey and the person she has become through music. She introduced herself in a heartfelt message, reminding fans about the passion that continues to drive her career.

She said, “Allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Gugulethu Khumalo, but you know me as Berita. I play guitar, sing and write songs. I love music. I’m also just a girl who loves fashion and is a hopeless romantic.

I want to give you music that feels like a breath of fresh air. It’s soulful, romantic and a reflection of the woman that l’ve become. My new single Namhlanje drops Friday 20 March.”

Fans of the singer can also look forward to seeing her perform live later this year. Berita will take the stage at Market Theatre on Saturday, 1 May 2026. The performance forms part of a special show titled Echoes of the Soul, which promises to be a night filled with music, storytelling and meaningful connection.

Tickets for the event are available in different price categories. Early bird tickets are priced at R280, while general tickets cost R350. For those planning a special evening, the Date Night option is available for R600, and VIP tickets cost R750.

The singer recently reminded her followers that the early bird tickets would soon close and encouraged fans to secure their seats before it is too late.

Sharing her excitement about the upcoming performance, she said, “4 days left! The Early bird tickets for Echoes of the Soul close in 4 days.

Berita also reflected on how meaningful it is for her to perform at the historic theatre. In February 2026, she shared that stepping into the venue reminded her of the legendary artists who have performed there before her.

She said, “This week I walked through the @markettheatre and had a moment of realization….. This is the same stage that has held the voices of Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela and Letta Mbulu. Legends who carried our stories in their music.

I thought about the years it has taken to get here. The prayers. The persistence. The belief.

Echoes of the Soul will live in this historic space, and that feels deeply personal. Not just another show. A moment I will remember forever.

This theatre has carried history. Resistance. Celebration. Music that meant something. To know that Echoes of the Soul will live here, even for one night, feels deeply humbling. I don’t take that lightly!”

With a new single on the way and a special live performance planned, Berita is clearly entering an exciting new chapter in her musical journey. Fans can expect soulful music, emotional storytelling and a memorable night when she takes the stage in May.
