Nelisiwe Sibiya Lands a New Role in Land of Mills and Money

South African actress Nelisiwe Sibiya is stepping into a new chapter in her acting career with an exciting role in e.tv’s upcoming drama series Land of Mills and Money, where she will portray the character of Phiwe.
Set against the backdrop of Mpumalanga, the new drama takes viewers into the fictitious town of Shonalanga, a place where land, wealth, power and survival are deeply connected. e.tv is preparing to captivate audiences when Land of Mills and Money premieres on Monday, 31 August at 7PM, only on e.tv.
At the centre of the story is Phiwe, played by Nelisiwe Sibiya, a fiercely determined young police officer whose life takes an unexpected turn after a fateful encounter during a heist. The incident leaves her carrying a secret that she knows could change everything, forcing her to protect the truth at all costs.
According to e.tv, Phiwe’s struggle becomes even more complicated when township matriarch Mazwi Mhlongo, played by Winnie Nthsaba, discovers an opportunity to use Phiwe’s secret to her advantage. What begins as a carefully guarded truth soon becomes a dangerous weapon in a world where power and loyalty are constantly shifting.
But Land of Mills and Money is not only about crime, secrets and ambition. Deep within the drama is a complicated love story involving Phiwe and Muzi Mhlongo, played by Zamani Mbatha. Phiwe’s decision during the heist creates a painful barrier between her and the man she truly loves, leaving their relationship caught between love, consequences and circumstances beyond their control.
The show also brings together a stellar ensemble cast featuring some of South Africa’s most celebrated performers. Themba Ndaba stars as Melusi, Jo-Anne Reyneke plays Thembi, Sphelele Luthuli takes on the role of Khwezi, while Mbali Ngiba appears as Gog’Sindi. Kenneth Nkosi plays Pastor Caiphus and Gcinile Nkosi portrays Mam’Dee.
