Rockstar's Grand Theft Auto 2 was released in 1999, and although that was the era of early 3D gaming, its top-down presentation set the tone for the game-changing open-world action of Grand Theft Auto 3 in 2001. The GTA series has seen a few impressive RTX Remix mods and projects over the past couple of years, but seeing GTA 2 with full path-traced lighting is an impressive achievement.
