No, Thanks: I Do Not Seek a Liberation Rooted in My Own Erasure

I carry a heavy mix of anger and exhaustion as I survey the landscape of modern feminism. Eighteen years ago, when the word first took root in my mind, it arrived like the promise of rain after a long drought, promising to shatter the cage of systemic subjugation and grant women the right to breathe, unencumbered. But the movement I see today has, in many ways, morphed into the very thing it seeks to dismantle. The ideals of choice and empowerment have hardened into a new dogma; a myopic focus on grievance that feels less like liberation and more like a different kind of confinement. It’s infuriating, exhausting and downright ridiculous!
