Kaizer Chiefs will face Zimbabwean champions Scottland FC in the third edition of the Toyota Cup on Sunday, 26 July. Kick-off is scheduled for 15:00 at the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in Rustenburg.
SABC has confirmed that supporters can watch the match live on SABC 1. The pre-season fixture will be Amakhosi’s final test before the start of the new Betway Premiership campaign under head coach Fernando Da Cruz. That game will be against newcomers Kruger United on Saturday 1 August. Kick off will be at 20:15 at the Mbombela Stadium.
KAIZER CHIEFS CHASE FIRST TOYOTA CUP WIN
Amakhosi are still searching for their first victory in the Toyota Cup after falling short in the previous two editions.
The inaugural tournament took place in 2024 at the Toyota Stadium in Bloemfontein. Young Africans SC thrashed Amakhosi 4-0 to lift the trophy.
The second edition moved to the Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban in 2025. Kaizer Chiefs drew 0-0 with Asante Kotoko before losing 3-2 in the penalty shootout.
Sunday’s event will also feature the unveiling of Kaizer Chiefs’ new signings and the launch of the club’s new home and away kits. Fans will also be treated to a curtain-raiser between the Kaizer Chiefs Legends and the Jozi Masters, which kicks off at 12:00.
SCOTTLAND FC READY FOR BIG TEST
Scottland FC arrive in South Africa as the reigning Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League champions after winning the title just one season after earning promotion.
The visitors boast familiar faces in Khama Billiat and Knowledge Musona, who both previously starred for Kaizer Chiefs. The experienced duo will return to face their former club in what promises to be an entertaining contest.
The match will also help both teams prepare for demanding seasons. Kaizer Chiefs will begin their Betway Premiership campaign soon, while Scottland FC continue their preparations for the CAF Champions League.
