The 2026 CEO Wheelchair Campaign gives leaders a first-hand look at the realities of navigating life in a wheelchair, while supporting LITTLE EDEN and promoting inclusive leadership.

Johannesburg, South Africa (25 February 2026) – This March, South Africa’s CEOs are being challenged to lead from a different seat, a wheelchair. The 2026 CEO Wheelchair Campaign, in support of LITTLE EDEN Society (an NGO caring for people with severe intellectual disabilities and regarded as one of South Africa’s foremost centres for specialised care) invites business leaders to spend a full workday navigating offices, meetings and everyday spaces from a new perspective, gaining first-hand insight into the daily realities faced by the 300 children and adults in LITTLE EDEN’s care.

The campaign officially launches on 27 February at Eastgate Mall, where participating leaders will take part in interactive activities before committing to their challenge days throughout March. It’s an initiative centred on empathy, inclusion and action, encouraging leaders not only to experience mobility challenges themselves, but also to rally their peers and support LITTLE EDEN’s ongoing care programmes.

While the focus is on empathy and inclusion, the campaign also aims to raise vital funds for LITTLE EDEN. Contributions from participating business leaders, SMEs, and individual professionals directly support the organisation’s daily care programmes, helping to provide specialised services and resources for South Africa’s most vulnerable residents. The goal for this year is to raise R1.5 million, ensuring that the centre can continue its critical work.

A few months ago, several cyclists lined up for Ride Joburg, taking part to amplify the work that LITTLE EDEN does when it comes to shining a spotlight on inclusivity.

They continue inspire creative ways for the public and corporate sector to step up. The organisation proves that meaningful change often begins with simply choosing to understand someone else’s journey.
