South African mineral sales rose by 38.5% year-on-year in the first quarter to R242.4 billion. This was due to 30.2 year-on-year increase in March to R82.4 billion. This followed a 57.9% year-on-year surge in February 2026 to R78.4 billion. In January there was a 31.6% year-on-year gain to R81.6 billion.
