A Las Vegas jury on Monday, Oct. 19, convicted Canadian tourist Mitchell Fairbarn of felony and misdemeanor animal cruelty for taking Peachy, a 27-year-old Chilean flamingo, from the wildlife habitat at the Flamingo Las Vegas Hotel and Casino in March. Jurors deliberated about five hours before reaching the verdict, according to The Associated Press.
