A knitted fabric designed to keep insects away from crops raised strawberry yields by as much as 3.56 times in tunnel field tests at North Carolina State University, researchers report. The cover, called Plant Armor, blocked aphids completely in laboratory tests while letting sunlight, rain and air reach the plants.
