About 200 eggs from the first sea turtle nests ever recorded on the U.S. West Coast are incubating in sand-filled containers at the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California. Federal and state biologists collected the eggs from two olive ridley nests in Orange County on Friday, Sept. 25, because high surf from tropical storms off Mexico was forecast to arrive with the weekend's high tides, according to NOAA Fisheries.
