Kaizer Chiefs could be exploring more transfer business beyond South Africa. Zimbabwean club president Scott Sakupwanya revealed that discussions are taking place between the two sides over potential player movements.
The businessman, who leads Scottland FC, says negotiations with Amakhosi are already underway as both clubs prepare for the new season.
Speaking about his club’s transfer plans, Sakupwanya hinted that Kaizer Chiefs are part of ongoing discussions. “Fans should expect more players to come in. We’re not done yet,” he told Zimbabwean media.
“We have already completed the signing of Nickson Nyasulu from FC Platinum, and he’s a quality addition to our squad. But that’s just the start. I am currently in talks with many clubs, both locally and abroad, for players and other transactions.
“As we speak, I am engaging Kaizer Chiefs about possible player movements between the two clubs. We are also speaking to players who are based in Europe. Our goal is to bring the best talent to Scottland FC and build a team that can compete at the highest level.”
The comments suggest that discussions between the two clubs extend beyond friendly relations and could potentially involve transfer activity.
In the meantime, Kaizer Chiefs have announced one signing, as well as the appointement of a new head coach.
2026 TOYOTA CUP
Meanwhile, Scottland FC are also set to face the Betway Premiership giants in the third edition of the Toyota Cup on 26 July at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium, providing another opportunity for officials from both clubs to interact.
The Zimbabwean outfit currently sits at the top of the Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League standings after extending its lead to seven points with a 2-0 victory over Ngezi Platinum.
Kaizer Chiefs football manager Bobby Motaung was present at that fixture, with Sakupwanya’s remarks adding further intrigue to speculation that transfer negotiations are taking place behind the scenes.
