Advocate Sesi Baloyi SC has questioned KwaZulu-Natal Acting Deputy Police Commissioner for Crime Detection, Major-General Anthony Gopaul about potentially misusing his police role to gather information about Vishnugopal Doeshnie Govender, a member of the uMkhonto weSizwe Party, and passing it on to Minister of Police Senzo Mchunu, who has been placed on special leave. Gopaul has admitted to the Madlanga Commision that he requested Govender's profile from his colleague and gave that information to Mchunu who was on a political campaign trail.
