Audiologist and founder of the Caring Purpose Foundation, Romanda Hombir from Mpumalanga has been crowned Miss World South Africa 2026. She received the prestigious title on Saturday, 18 July 2026, and will now represent South Africa at the 73rd Miss World pageant, which will take place in Vietnam on 5 September 2026.
The newly crowned queen now carries the hopes of the nation as she prepares to compete on the international stage. Miss World 2026 will be the 73rd edition of the global pageant, bringing together contestants from around the world to celebrate beauty with purpose and community impact.
Soon after her crowning, Romanda shared an emotional video on Instagram. Holding a bouquet of flowers, wearing her crown and a proud smile, she reflected on what the achievement means to her and to the country.
“I feel blessed to represent a country that is so strong, so tenacious, so vibrant. Now the world gets to see how we care. How actively we invest in the future and how we’re ready to change the trajectory of Africa.”
Her words highlighted not only her excitement but also her desire to showcase South Africa’s resilience, compassion and commitment to creating positive change.
On Instagram, the 27-year-old expressed deep gratitude for the opportunity and the journey that led her to the crown. She wrote:

“My journey was sparked by a single, beautiful child whose story taught me that care must be intentional, holistic, and rooted in unconditional love. “Poverty does not define a child, their potential does. As Miss World South Africa, I am honoured to carry this message beyond our borders.
