• Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla says people who targeted her in the MK Party failed in their attempts to push her out.

• The former MK Party MP insists she resigned from Parliament voluntarily and never wanted to become a politician.

Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla has hit back at her critics in the MK Party, saying nobody who tried to target her has succeeded.

The daughter of former President Jacob Zuma made the remarks during a live TikTok discussion on Wednesday night.

Speaking during a political debate hosted by TikTok personality Zizipho, Duduzile said many people entered the MK Party hoping to fight with her, but failed.

“Nobody has touched me in the MK Party and survived politically. Many came to target me, but they did not last,” she said.

Duduzile also addressed claims that she was removed from Parliament.

She insisted that she was not pushed out and chose to leave on her own.

“I resigned voluntarily. Nobody instructed me to leave Parliament,” she said.

She added that she never wanted to become an MP in the first place.

“I made it clear that I am not a politician and I did not want any position. I was sent to Parliament anyway, and when I decided to leave, I did so on my own.”

Duduzile resigned from Parliament in November last year after becoming caught up in controversy over allegations linked to South Africans who travelled to Russia.

She has previously denied wrongdoing.

During the TikTok discussion, Duduzile also spoke about her relationship with Economic Freedom Fighters leader Julius Malema.

She said their friendship remains strong despite political differences and recent developments involving former MK Party secretary-general Floyd Shivambu.

“Julius and I have known each other for years from the ANC Youth League days. Our friendship is still intact,” she said.

She said Shivambu was never her friend and that she only knew him because he was often with Malema when they met.

The discussion attracted hundreds of viewers and sparked debate among supporters of both the MK Party and the Economic Freedom Fighters.
