With bags overflowing, spirits high and funky costumes, the Children’s Hospital Trust team rolled up to the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital to celebrate 32 years of the Trust’s life-changing impact!

Cape Town, South Africa (15 February 2026) – On Friday, the providers of world-class healthcare to children in need, The Children’s Hospital Trust (CHT), celebrated their 32nd birthday!

And what better way to mark this milestone than by bringing pure joy to the children who motivate everything they do. The colourful team rolled up with excitement and overflowing party bags, toys to spark some smiles, treats to sweeten the day, and love to wrap around every child at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital today.

“Seeing eyes widen with excitement really made this day so special,” the Trust said.

Established in 1994, the Trust is built on the belief that every child should have access to the highest quality healthcare services they need close to their homes. To feel safe and comforted during times of illness and trauma; to be cared for in a nurturing environment that is supportive of patient, family and staff wellbeing; and to be cared for by skilled and supported healthcare professionals equipped with the infrastructure and equipment needed to provide optimal care.

Working in partnership with the Western Cape Department of Health, UCT Department of Paediatrics and Child Health, the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital (RCWMCH) and powered by the generosity of donors, the Trust has invested over R1 billion since 1994 towards improving public health infrastructure, training specialist paediatric health workers, and supporting the establishment of child public health projects.

Good Things Guy has shared numerous stories that highlight the invaluable impact CHT has had on young lives, from ensuring Hlelo received the treatment for his heart condition, and being part of Natalie’s journey after receiving shinbone surgery, to building state-of-the-art burns care units – the charity has filled a healthcare gap for countless children in their time of need.

We join them in celebrating 32 years of impact, compassion, transformation, and the incredible donors who make it all possible.
