DJ Zinhle’s Taxi Ride to Fourways Mall Sparks Questions from Fans

South African DJ and businesswoman DJ Zinhle recently got social media users talking after sharing a TikTok video of herself using public transport.
The star posted a video showing her journey in a Quantum taxi while heading to Fourways Mall with two other women. What seemed like a simple outing quickly became a topic of discussion among her followers, with many questioning whether the experience was genuine.
In the video, DJ Zinhle explained why they decided to use a taxi. “We’ve been walking and now we have to take a taxi,” she said before boarding the vehicle.
The trio then made their way to Fourways Mall. However, what caught the attention of viewers was the amount reportedly paid for the trip. DJ Zinhle paid R20 for the three women, which immediately raised eyebrows online.
Many social media users pointed out that the fare did not seem accurate. If the trip cost R11 per person, three passengers would have paid a total of R33. As a result, several viewers questioned whether the taxi ride was real or simply created for content.
One TikTok user, @Sucre!, commented: “The taxi was hired for this content.”
Another user, @ThaboK ThaboLights, also expressed disbelief, writing: “LOL no ways, R20 to Fourways,” accompanied by a shocked face emoji and laughing emoji.
DJ Zinhle quickly responded to clear up the confusion. She explained that the group had actually paid more than what some viewers assumed. “It’s R11 per person. We gave the guy 40 Rands,” she replied.
Despite the debate around the fare, DJ Zinhle appeared to enjoy the experience. While travelling, she shared her thoughts on using public transport.
“I should take a taxi everyday this is fun,” she said.
Using as public transportation is often associated with crowded conditions and busy routes. However, DJ Zinhle seemed impressed by how convenient the journey was.
After arriving at Fourways Mall and finishing her shopping, she admitted that she would not be taking a taxi home because there was no route that would get her there.
“I’m back at Fourways Mall I got everything that I need but I’m definitely taking an Uber home. There’s no route going to my house. I would have loved taking it. It so fun and easy. What’s the big fuss?”
