A lot of people will tell you that racism is just “natural.”

They’ll say it’s tribalism. Human nature. Evolution. Fear of the unfamiliar. All the usual explanations.

But I’m not convinced those explanations go nearly far enough — at least not when it comes to the specific, obsessive, and historically extreme hatred directed toward Black people.

Because when you really look at history, something doesn’t add up.

Across centuries, across continents, and across cultures, Black people have consistently been one of the most hated and most targeted groups on the planet. To varying degrees, yes — but overwhelmingly and systemically, especially by white or Caucasian societies. And that hatred didn’t stay contained. It trickled down into other groups over time.

I’m not saying this to be inflammatory or racist. I’m saying it as a historical observation.

If the history we’re taught is even remotely accurate, white societies — while also producing good — have caused more destruction, exploitation, and harm to other groups than Black people ever have. And yet somehow, Black people remain uniquely vilified.
