Joe Root picked up exactly where he left off, smashing a stunning 138 not out to give England a glimmer of hope in their quest to reclaim the Ashes. Jofra Archer chipped in with a handy 38 from 36 balls, much to the annoyance of the Aussies, before they finally made a breakthrough and bowled England out for 334.
