South Africa’s favourite mystery singing competition is making a comeback. The Masked Singer South Africa is returning for its highly anticipated third season, and viewers can expect even more excitement, surprises and unforgettable reveals.

The South African Film and Television Award-winning show has officially found a new home on SABC 2. The new season is set to premiere on 4 July, bringing a fresh round of celebrity performances, elaborate costumes and shocking unmaskings.

Season three will feature 16 celebrities competing in disguise for the coveted Golden Mask Trophy. As always, the stars will perform while hiding their identities behind spectacular costumes, leaving viewers and the celebrity detectives guessing who is behind each mask.

Fan-favourite comedian Mpho Popps will return as the host of the show. The panel of celebrity detectives will also be back, with Somizi Mhlongo, Skhumba, J’Something and Sithelo Shozi once again taking on the challenge of uncovering the famous faces behind the masks.

According to Eyewitness News, viewers can look forward to a season that promises to be bigger and more entertaining than ever before.

“What’s certain is that The Masked Singer South Africa Season 3 will be bigger, bolder and more spectacular than ever before.”

Anele Mdoda, co-founder and CEO of Rose and Oaks Media, shared her excitement about the upcoming season.

“Expect the wow factor that made The Masked Singer South Africa the talk of the town, but multiply it by at least three. It’s going to be wild!” says Anele Mdoda.

She added: “You won’t believe your eyes when the personalities behind the Masks are revealed. We’re talking mega-mega stars. And the Masks themselves are absolutely out of this world. Think glitz, glamour and extravagance on an epic scale.”

The show has built a reputation for attracting some of the country’s most recognisable personalities. Previous seasons left South Africans stunned when the identities behind the masks were finally revealed.

Previous seasons have featured some of South Africa’s biggest stars, including UFC champion Dricus du Plessis, former Miss South Africa Shudufhadzo Musida and media personality Boity Thulo, all of whom kept audiences guessing until their identities were revealed.

With new masks, new performances and a star-studded lineup waiting to be revealed, season three looks set to deliver plenty of jaw-dropping moments when it premieres on SABC 2 next month.
