Specialist radiologist Dr Musa Mthombeni has responded to allegations claiming that he cheated on his wife, Liesl Laurie Mthombeni, during a boys trip to Thailand.
The rumours began circulating on social media, with some claims suggesting that Dr Musa Mthombeni was involved with another woman while travelling with friends. The speculation gained attention after some users noticed that the couple had not recently shared photos of themselves together online.
Dr Musa and Liesl Laurie, who was crowned Miss South Africa 2015, often post about their relationship on social media. The couple frequently shares moments from their lives, including holidays, birthdays and anniversaries, which has made them one of South Africa’s most admired celebrity couples.

On Wednesday, 15 April, an X user with the handle _asemahle_n questioned why the couple had not posted pictures together in a while. Soon after, commentary blogs on X began speculating that there might be “trouble in paradise”.
As the rumours spread online, Dr Musa took to X to shut down the allegations and dismiss the claims as false.
Responding to the speculation, he wrote: “Aowa Bathong. Mina futhi! What fresh lie is it today?”
In another post, he criticised social media users who spread controversial claims for attention.
“Saphela Nkosi yam. Every time i see something controversial on the timeline, I check for a blue tick. Once I see it, I know it’s hunger tweeting.”
Dr Musa also warned that constantly using the word “allegedly” when spreading rumours could eventually lead to legal consequences.
“One day le ‘ALLEGEDLY’ yenu is gonna to end in ‘PUNITIVE COSTS’.”
