  • ANCYL President Collen Malatjie claimed IFP councillors sexually abuse unemployed people in exchange for employment at IFP run municipalities nationwide.
  • IFP Youth Brigade National Chairperson Sanele Zondo denied the allegations and called Malatjie a gossip monger who opposes the GNU.

A political fight has broken out between the IFP Youth Brigade and the ANCYL over allegations of sexual abuse in exchange for jobs.

ANCYL President Collen Malatjie recently claimed that IFP councillors are corrupt and sexually exploit people looking for employment.

Malatjie said unemployed people are forced to submit to sexual abuse to get jobs at municipalities run by the IFP.

The IFP Youth Brigade has hit back at the allegations this week.

IFP Youth Brigade National Chairperson Sanele Zondo called on Malatjie to produce evidence that IFP leaders and councillors are sexually abusing unemployed people in order to give them employment.

Zondo said what Malatjie has said is totally the opposite of what the IFP stands for.

“We are disappointed at Malatjie because he seems to thrive on gossip. What kind of a national leader, whenever he opens his mouth, he spews gossip,” said Zondo.

“He has proven to us beyond reasonable doubt that he is a gossip monger who doesn’t care about important issues that affect our youth in this country. We are calling on him to stop lying about the IFP,” said Zondo.

Zondo said the biggest problem with Malatjie is that he belongs to the ANC faction that is against the Government of National Unity (GNU).

Zondo claimed Malatjie is doing everything to fight the GNU.

“Malatjie needs to know that in the IFP when someone is corrupt, we fire that person or take serious steps against them,” said Zondo.

“Even our departments in government are the best run. It is only those of the ANC that are facing serious allegations of corruption.”

Zondo pointed to ANC municipalities facing corruption allegations.

“Look at their municipalities. In KZN the Impendle Local Municipality is unable to pay workers because their councillors have irregularly spent the sum of over R40-million,” said Zondo.
