Arbor Month in Limpopo is taking on a broader meaning in Ga-Matji, where tree planting is being linked with food production, environmental protection and community development. MEC Makamu led activities from Ga-Matji Moshate to Ward 3 as part of an effort to promote greener communities and strengthen local food security. The activities at the Mogabagabe Climate Smart Agriculture Project highlight how trees can support more than environmental goals when communities plan their agricultural spaces carefully. Through the One Employee, One Tree campaign, employees and communities are being encouraged to contribute directly to a greener Limpopo. The message is simple and practical: planting trees can help create shade, support productive landscapes and contribute to a more resilient future.
