  • TS Galaxy are under two Fifa transfer bans after contract disputes with former players.
  • The club has sold three players but cannot register any new signings until debts are paid.

TS Galaxy have sold three key players but are unable to sign replacements because the club is under Fifa transfer bans.

The Mpumalanga club is currently serving two separate bans imposed by Fifa. These relate to breaches of contract involving former players.

Despite selling players for significant fees, Galaxy cannot register new signings until the bans are lifted and outstanding payments are settled.

The club has sold Khulumani Ndamane to Mamelodi Sundowns. Puso Dithejane has moved to Chicago Fire in the United States. Qobolwakhe Sibande has joined Petrojet SC in Egypt.

The first transfer ban was imposed in October. It followed the early termination of Namibian striker Jegbay Konneh’s contract. He was released six months into a three year deal.

Fifa ordered Galaxy to pay Konneh about R2-million. The club allegedly cited work permit issues at the time.

A second ban was imposed in December and also covers three transfer windows. The reason for this ban has not been explained publicly.

Club owner Tim Sukazi, who also serves on the Premier Soccer League executive, has not commented on the bans.

The situation leaves coach Adnan Beganović with limited options for the rest of the season. Key players have left and the squad cannot be strengthened.

Galaxy have built a reputation for developing overlooked players and selling them for profit. That approach has brought financial success.

However, the off field issues now threaten to slow that progress.

TS Galaxy are not the only club affected. Golden Arrows are also under a Fifa transfer ban after failing to pay former striker Knox Mutizwa.
