Elon Musk Can Get Away With Being Stupid Because Conservatives Have No Standards

Some comments that Elon Musk made in 2020 have recently resurfaced online, comments in which he made some rather dubious claims about the nature of mRNA technology and the changes it can bring about in humans. It’s worth noting how these comments he made went viral in the backdrop of him making some increasingly anti-trans comments, specifically about his daughter Vivian, who has spoken openly about her dislike for her father.

“I think there’s going to be a lot of breakthroughs on the medical side, particularly around synthetic mRNA. You can basically do anything with synthetic mRNA — DNA. It’s like a computer program. If not too crazy, you can probably stop aging — reverse it, if you want. You can turn someone into a fricking butterfly, if you want, with the right DNA sequence.”- Elon Musk

Despite Musk’s claims of this not being crazy, it very much is. At this current time, there’s no evidence that mRNA technology can stop overall ageing in people, never mind reverse it. There’s some evidence that it may be able to slow or even reverse cellular ageing, but this is a far cry from the point Musk is making.
