The future of agriculture depends not only on access to resources but also on the knowledge and skills that farmers gain to improve their production. Recognising this, the North West Department of Agriculture and Rural Development continues to invest in practical training initiatives that strengthen local farming communities. On 31 July, the department, through the Naledi Local Agricultural Office in the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati District Municipality, hosted an informative poultry workshop in the farming town of Stella. The event brought together poultry industry experts and backyard and subsistence farmers for a day of learning, engagement and practical demonstrations. By the end of the workshop, participants had gained valuable knowledge that will help them build stronger poultry enterprises while contributing to food security and rural economic development.
