SA’s Navi Pillay wins Nobel Peace Prize for championing peace and international law

Navi Pillay, a former International Criminal Court (ICC) judge who oversaw a United Nations (UN) report that concluded that Israel committed genocide in Gaza, won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday, 9 October 2026, “for her efforts to promote peace and international law”.
