Rapper Rouge Joins Scandal! as New Character Darlene

South African rapper Barbara Mabela better known as Rouge is adding another title to her name — actress. The award-winning star has joined the popular eTV soapie Scandal!, where she will play a new character named Darlene. Her role is expected to bring drama, mystery and emotional storytelling to the show.
According to e.tv, Rouge plays Darlene Myrie, a strong and determined woman who arrives in Johannesburg looking for answers about the mysterious death of her brother, photographer Samka Myrie. While investigating his death, Darlene finds herself drawn into the dangerous world of the Level Up Apartments.
During her search for the truth, she meets two men who are connected to her brother’s death — Mdala and Hlogi. Driven by grief and a strong need to uncover what really happened, Darlene shows that she is not someone people should underestimate.
Darlene is described as a woman of Jamaican heritage who has travelled around the world. She is sophisticated, smart and knows how to survive in different environments. She can easily fit into high society but also understands the realities of life on the streets. Her ability to change identities and accents helps her move unnoticed while she searches for the truth.
The character is bold, resourceful and determined. Her past experiences and the loss of her brother have shaped her into someone who refuses to give up.
