Nike Dunk Low "Since 1972" Appears in "Orewood Brown" Colorway
The retro design nods to the year that the brand’s famous Swoosh first appeared on its Cortez running shoe.
Nike has revealed its latest Dunk Low “Since 1972” sneaker, paying homage to the year that the brand’s famous Swoosh first appeared on its Cortez running shoe. Here, the legacy-lauding silhouette is done up in a new “Orewood Brown” colorway, with an upper that boasts a wooden-like texture.
Boasting a natural feel, the silhouette’s cracked leather base synergizes with smooth tan leather sections across its upper construction. The tongue, which features a red, old-school Nike logo inside a plastic bubble, is nestled under thick yellow-brown laces that appear much like a rope. The midsole appears in a dark brown tone, as does the outsole, which is built to provide maximal traction.
Zooming in, the sneaker comes with specially designed hang tags nodding to the design’s vintage inspirations. One, done up in leather, features the Swoosh motif alongside “Nike 1972” letter; and another houses the sportswear giant’s present-day iconography. Rounding out the design specs, Nike’s branding appears in red and blue on the back of each heel.
